Adult Protective Services (APS) is a program of the Illinois Department on Aging (IDoA). APS provides services to older adults and adults with disabilities who may be at risk of abuse, neglect, abandonment, financial exploitation and/ or self-neglect. APS case workers will visit you in person to conduct an assessment. The assessment helps determine what needs you may have. We will talk about your goals and explain what services or assistance is available to help meet your goals. Examples of assistance are: in-home help with cleaning, laundry, bathing, meals, counseling, legal referrals, transportation, housing, etc. There is no charge to you for Adult Protective Services.
